Hi, I’m Patrick

I’m a first-year undergraduate mathematics student at Chalmers and the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. My academic interests focuses on understanding how Large Language Models work from first principles, with an emphasis on safety, robustness, and architecture. I enjoy building software systems that are; simple, easy to maintain, and very fast.

I’m looking for part-time work, project work, and internships, as a way to add industry experience, alongside my theoretical studies. Location? Gothenburg, Stockholm (hybrid), or remote. Please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Who am I

Originally, I am from Gothenburg, a charming city on the swedish Westcoast. Before Chalmers, I worked several jobs in different industries - the common denominator has always been “the human experience” of assistive technology. I’m also an avid reader and aim to finish at least one new book every week.

What I’m working on

RailCheck: checking an LLM’s logic: A language model translates 18 railway-style safety rules into first-order logic, and two independent provers (my Foras and Z3) check every translation. Write-up: Generate, but verify..

Foras: a theorem prover: About 20,000 lines of Rust, tested with differential testing against Z3 on 1,000 problems. More.

AI Agent Tools: AgentFS gives an agent a workspace with a filesystem, a key-value store and an audit log of every tool call; AgentSmith gives it searchable long-term memory; Ripley benchmarks a coding agent on a schedule.

Open Source Rust: 34 crates on crates.io, among them a Grammatical Framework runtime (gf-core), a statechart parser (harel), a FIX protocol library (minifix) and an array library with automatic differentiation on WebGPU (jax-rs). The ones with real code are presented as agents, with live numbers, on Agents.

100 Days of Vibe: I’m in the process of building small daily projects using AI-tools. I collect what I build in 100 Days of Vibe, and sometimes write post-project pieces with interactive figures in the Lab.

  • B.Sc. Computational Linguistics, University of Gothenburg, 2004–2007: logic, formal semantics, parsing, dialogue systems, neural networks. Thesis: Ontologies in Issue-based Dialogue Systems.
  • Virtual Reality Trainiee, learned the basics of how to develop interactive Virtual Reality software using EON Reality, Java, ProEngineer, Macromedia Director, etc.
  • Art School, one year of learning the basics of illustration, painting, sculpture, graphic design, and the history of art

Work

  • Independent software developer, 2018–2025: open-source Rust libraries for financial markets (FIX protocol) and blockchain, trading tools, and since 2024 tooling for AI agents.
  • Founder, Swedish Chamber of Digital Currency Commerce, 2015–2018: a non-profit that taught companies, consumers and government about Bitcoin and blockchain.
  • Co-founder, producer and director, Bäck-n-Bauer HB and Lucky Punk AB, 2009–2014: commercials for clients such as Volvo, Telia and Bic.
  • Design engineer and project coordinator, Semcon HMI, 2007–2009: owned the language-technology area, built HMI prototypes, lectured on AI and dialogue systems, and co-coordinated an in-vehicle HMI research project with Volvo Cars and Chalmers that led to SEK 80M+ in VINNOVA funding.
